Note that Ann is only
15 years older than her daughter, Mary Ann. Bearing in mind the age difference between Ann and husband Patrick
could it be that Ann is Patricks second
wife and Mary Ann is the daughter of Patricks first wife?
In the 1871 census, a Bridget POLLARD
(age 68, b1803) is shown living at Dewhurst Street, Preston with Patrick and his wife Ann. Bridget is
shown as mother-in-law to Patrick.This fits with the birth of an Ann Pollard in1839. who I think is the
correct Ann, but I am unable to find a marriage registration between Ann Pollard and Patrick Dwyer to
confirm the relationships detailed in the 1871 census.Also there is a death registration of a Bridget
Ann Pollard in Preston in September quarter 1873, which would seem to fit, Her age is given as 69,
giving an approximate date of birth of 1803/4.
