Lots of Susannahs?
Thomas and Sarah appear to have had two daughters, both of whom they named Susannah. It was not an unusual at the time, when child mortality was high, to re-use names of deceased children, perhaps as a way of rememberance, but in this case neither daughter survived childhood.
It is interesating to note that Sarah had a sister named Susanna(h), and perhaps that is where the name originated? Also, Thomas and Sarah's eldest son, Thomas, named his first born daughter, Susannah in 1853. She appears also not to have survived and he named a subsiquent daughter Susannah Kate in 1871.
