Susannah's birth is registered in March 1853 and the parish records show her baptism at St Clement on the 12th May 1855. Her father is shown as Thomas (Iron Moulder), mother Ellen.
A buriel of a Susannah Abbott on the 31st May 1855 is recorded in the St Clement Parish Registers. Age recorded as "infant" Susannah does not appear in the 1861 census with her family so this is assumed to be the death of the correct Susannah.
This assumption is supported by the fact that Thomas and Ellen had another daughter in 1871, who they also called Susannah. They would not have done this had this Susannah still been alive?
Susannah was clearly a favorite name for the Cook Abbott family in Ipswich in the mid/late 1800's. Other Susannah Cook Abbott's were born in 1841, 1850 and 1853. Sadly, one of these (I don't know which at the moment) died in 1852.
