The following entry appears in the London Gazette, (issue 37184 page 10), published on the 17th July 1945;
"War Office - The KING has been graciously pleased to approve that the following be mentioned in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Italy::-
Royal Regiment of Artillery, 823522 Bdr. D. C. COCK-ABBOT."
(The name was corrected in Issue 37331 (page 9) published 30th October 1945, which reads "For 823522 Bdr. D. C. COCK-ABBOT, R.A., substitute 823522 Bdr. D. C. COOK-ABBOTT, R.A").
