| There is a possible death registration for John in Norwich December quarter 1870. His age is stated as 71, which is a close match to his birth date. A death at this time would explain why John cannot be found in the 1871 census. Also following the death of his wife Mary in 1864 in Ipswich, and bearing in mind that his son John was running the Ipswich mineral water business, John snr may have retired back to his home town of Norwich, where he died. If this is the correct date, suprisingly, I have not yet been able to find a Will for John, which I would have expected to find bearing in mind his business interests. |

Dyer / b Norfolk Norwich Mary Talbot / Wife / Marr / 61 / b Norfolk Norwich William (?) Talbot / Son / Unmarried / 19 / Soda Water maker / b Suffolk Ipswich I cannot make out Williams second initial on the form. Also note that John and Mary's ages / calculated birth dates, do not match the 1841 census return?
