The following is a transcript of Henry and Juliette's 1911 census return:- Henry Cook Abbott Head Married Male 36 1875 Barristers Clerk Bayswater Juliette A Abbott Wife Married Female 37 1874 - Pimlico Juliette R Abbott Daughter Single Female 11 1900 School St Pancras Doris M Abbott Daughter - Female 10 1901 School St Pancras Harry A Abbott Son - Male 7 1904 School St Pancras Eugenie C Abbott Daughter - Female 6 1905 School St Pancras Violet S Abbott Daughter - Female 1 1910 - St Pancras Ivy F Abbott Daughter - Female 0 1911 - St Pancras Marie A Makepeace Mother In Law Widow Female 60 1851 - Paris |
It is clear from the 1901 census return that Henry considered his surname as ABBOTT, and that Cook was his second forename not part of the surname.
All of his offspring were registered as "ABBOTT's". There were only 2 male offspring, both of whom died young, and his daughters would have changed their name on marriage, therefore this ABBOTT / COOK-ABBOTT name line dies out with the death of Henry in 1941.
