The following information has been passed to me by the family of Reginald Arnold's (RiD1751) daughter.
"Matthew John Walker was born in 1839 in Brentford, Middlesex. In 1831 he was a Stoker at Gasworks in Battersea. He appears in the 1871 census at 17 Moat Street, Battersea. He died in 1899 in Wandsworth.
In 1871 he was living at 17 Moat Street and in 1891 at 2 Haward Street, Battersea.
John married Jane Ann Benham in 1891."
